IMAGE LAYER SPLITTER

Flat image, layers back.

Only have the final exported image, and someone wants one more change? Upload it to Delayer to split text, subject, decor, and background into separate layers, then export as PSD or PNG.

Scroll down to watch one poster split into layers

  1. Start with a finished image

A poster, product shot, or social graphic where text, product, and background are already baked into one file.

  2. Split into four layers

Text, subject, decor, and background each get their own layer, with the background behind the subject filled in.

  3. Change only the part you need

Nudge the bottle, move the price tag to the left, drop a lemon slice. Everything else stays put.

  4. Export and move on

Download a flattened PNG, a layered PSD, or just the single transparent cut-out you needed.

Images that were already final, opened back up

Product main images, campaign posters, social graphics, or AI-generated visuals. Pull out the subject, text, and small graphics so quick edits stay quick.

  • Product visual
  • Campaign poster
  • Social graphic
  • Brand poster
  • Web banner

Every layer can move on its own

How an image splits depends on what is inside it. Most layouts break down into these four parts, and you can also write a note for specific elements.

Text

Headlines, prices, and promo badges on their own layer so you can move, hide, or reposition them.

Subject

Products, people, or key objects separated with transparency, ready to reposition or save as assets.

Decor

Stickers, shapes, and small accents kept separate so you can move or remove them when a layout feels crowded.

Background

The base scene stays intact on the bottom layer, with the area behind the subject filled in so moving it leaves no gap.

Three steps from flat image to layered file

Upload, split, and export right in the browser, with changes saved automatically.

  1. Upload

Drop in a PNG, JPG, or WebP up to 30MB—or write a short prompt to generate an image first.

  2. Split

Let Delayer split the image automatically, or add a note saying which parts you want separated.

  3. Adjust & export

Move, resize, and reorder layers on the canvas, then export PNG, single-layer assets, or PSD.

Before you start

What is Delayer?

Delayer is an online image layer splitter made by zuuzii. Upload a finished image and it separates text, subject, decor, and background into transparent layers. Move, scale, hide, or redraw any layer in the browser canvas, then export a layered PSD, a flattened PNG, or a single transparent PNG. It is used for reworking product images, campaign posters, social graphics, and AI-generated images.

Which image formats can I upload?

PNG, JPG/JPEG, and WebP up to 30MB per file. If you do not have an image yet, you can also generate one from a text prompt.

Will moving the subject leave a hole in the background?

No. When the subject is separated, the background behind it is filled in too, so moving or deleting the subject does not leave a blank gap. The filled-in area is inferred from its surroundings, so busy textures may differ slightly from the original.

Can I retype the separated text directly?

Separated text is a transparent pixel layer—you can move, scale, hide, and reorder it, but it is not a live text box. To replace copy, select the old text layer and choose to hide it and write new text in the same spot, with adjustable font, size, and color.

Can I redraw just one element?

Yes. Select a layer and describe the change. Delayer regenerates that layer using it as a reference, places the result right above it, and hides the original so you can switch back any time. You can also generate a new transparent asset from a text prompt and drop it onto the canvas.

What can I export?

A flattened PNG of the whole canvas, transparent PNGs for individual layers, or a layered PSD file you can open in Photoshop and other design tools.

How many credits does each action use?

Generating, redrawing a layer, and splitting are priced separately, and the cost is shown on each button before you submit. Credits are shared across zuuzii products and can be topped up on the zuuzii pricing page.

Do failed jobs cost credits?

No. Credits are held when a job starts and refunded automatically if it fails. Retrying starts a new job and shows the credit cost on the button.

Do I need a separate account?

No. Sign in with your existing zuuzii account—credits and top-ups are shared.

Will refreshing the page lose my work?

No. Canvas elements, layer states, and viewport position save automatically, and completed jobs sync back to your project.
